Canberra High and PSG Join Forces

2 July 2008

Students from Canberra High School are currently constructing ticket boxes, basketball foul bats and alternating possession indicators for the upcoming 2008 Pacific School Games.

Mr Charlie Osman, Executive Teacher, Industrial Technology, was approached by Neal Redmayne, Operations Manager of the 2008 Pacific School Games early last semester to assist with the production of this equipment. The Year 10 V Tech class readily accepted the challenge and are working enthusiastically to achieve their goal.

“This is an excellent opportunity for the students to showcase their skills and ability to work independently in an industrial environment. The finished products will be vital to the success of the 2008 PSG.” Redmayne said.

Over 30 countries have now expressed an interest in attending the most anticipated school sport event on the Canberra sporting calendar. The 2008 Pacific School Games will kick start its countdown to the games at the Less than 100 days to go show at Westfield Belconnen Mall on Friday, 29 August. The show will feature an exciting song and dance performance, free giveaways, and appearances from the 2008 PSG Ambassadors
