Transport - Closing Ceremony

Date: Saturday 6 December
Time:  6.30pm – 9.30pm (Gates open at 5.15pm)
Venue: Thoroughbred Park

The 2008 PSG will officially close with a dance party featuring live performances by local entertainers / bands.  This will follow the final day of competition, bringing the Games to completion with a relaxed, student-driven celebration of music and dance.

Arrival              

Official PSG accommodation venues and Murrays Coaches, Buses & Limousines
  • Participants and team management will be transported by bus from accommodation venues to Thoroughbred Park under the direction of their Team Liaison Officer (TLO).
  • Teams are expected to arrive at Thoroughbred Park by no later than 6.15 pm.

Other accommodation

  • All teams and parents/guardians with participants staying in alternative accommodation venues should be aware they need to make their own travel arrangements to Thoroughbred Park.
  • It is the responsibility of teams and parents/guardians to ensure team members arrive at Thoroughbred Park by no later than 6.15 pm.
Public Transport and ACTION Buses

ACTION Route Bus Services 956 and 958 will operate between City Interchange and Belconnen Interchange and Thoroughbred Park every 60 minutes.  Exit bus at the junction of Flemington Road and Randwick Road.  Check the website www.action.act.gov.au for details regarding services and timetables.

 

Any competitor, team official or volunteer carrying and displaying PSG accreditation will be entitled to free transport for the duration of the Games.

Athletes with a disability

  • Transport will be made available for athletes with a disability upon request.
  • Team Managers should advise PSG Management prior to the Games if transport is required to the Closing Ceremony via email at info@pacificschoolgames.edu.au.

Arrival procedures and assembly of athletes and officials

  • On arrival, all athletes and team officials will assemble inside the main entrance on Catbird Lane.
  • Access points to grassed area in front of Acton Stand will be defined by signage and under the direction of Event Officials.
  • Once all teams have arrived they will receive instructions on protocols for the ceremony from their TLO’s.

Personal belongings/bags

  • Teams will be required to carry and be responsible for their belongings/bags for the duration of the ceremony and the dance party.

From Closing Ceremony

Buses will depart from Randwick Road to official PSG accommodation venues from 9.30pm.
