Transport at the Games
PSG Transport and Murrays Coaches, Buses & Limousines

A specialised bus timetable provided by Murrays will operate during the Games for all teams and officials staying in official 2008 PSG accommodation venues. Teams staying in these venues will be provided with daily transport to and from the PSG Bus Hub located in AIS Precinct near the Western Entrance to Canberra Stadium. |
Teams departing by bus to sporting venues outside the AIS Precinct will be directed to the designated departure points at the end of Battye St. Coloured banners will be displayed in this area to indicate destinations of buses. Buses will also display appropriate signage. Banners are as follows:
- BLUE Banner– to Canberra Olympic Pool
- RED Banner – to National Hockey Centre
- GREEN Banner – to Belconnen Basketball Stadium
Special Note for Teams & Parents/Guardians All teams and parents/guardians with participants staying in alternative accommodation venues should be aware they need to make their own competition day travel arrangements to sporting venues / PSG Bus Hub for students in their care.
In such cases, it is the responsibility of teams and parents/guardians to ensure students arrive at competition venues in time for events/matches.
Bus transport is being provided for all teams for the educational activities during the Games. |
Getting to competition venues
- Buses depart from all official PSG accommodation venues daily from 6.30 am.
- Buses depart the PSG Bus Hub for National Hockey Centre, Canberra Olympic Pool and Belconnen Basketball Stadium daily from 7.00 am, leaving every 15 minutes up to 9.00 am. A reduced timetable will operate after this time.
Shuttle Service
- A shuttle bus service will operate between the sporting venues AIS Precinct, National Hockey Centre, Canberra Olympic Pool and Belconnen Basketball Stadium every 30 minutes commencing at 9.00 am each day.
- This service will be available to all competitors, officials and volunteers carrying accreditation.
Returning to accommodation
- Daily between 9.00 am and 4.30 pm a reduced service timetable will operate.
- At the end of competition each day, buses depart the PSG Bus Hub for official PSG accommodation venues from 4.30 pm at regular intervals until 6.00 pm. A reduced service timetable will operate after this time.
Athletes with a disability
- Specialised transport will be made available for athletes with a disability upon request.
- Team Managers should advise PSG Management prior to the Games if specialised transport is required via email at info@pacificschoolgames.edu.au.
Transport from Opening Ceremony
- All competitors and officials requiring transport to Canberra Olympic Pool, National Hockey Centre and Belconnen Basketball Stadium will be transported by bus after the Opening Ceremony. Buses will depart from Eastern Car Park from 12.30 pm.
- Detailed information will be provided to Team Managers on the morning of the ceremony. More
Closing Ceremony
- All participants and team management staying in official PSG accommodation venues will be transported by bus from their venue to Thoroughbred Park. Departure times will commence from 5.00 pm; ceremony commences at 6.30 pm. Return transport to accommodation venues after the closing ceremony will commence from 9.30 pm.

Public Transport and Action Buses

The ACT Government will operate ACTION Route Bus Services daily during the Games. Check the website www.action.act.gov.au for details regarding services and timetables. |
Any competitor, team official or volunteer carrying and displaying PSG accreditation will be entitled to free transport for the duration of the Games.
Monday - Friday
- Route 7 Service operates between City Interchange and Belconnen Interchange linking AIS Precinct, University of Canberra and National Hockey Centre approximately every 30 minutes. Buses will depart Belconnen Interchange daily from 6.00 am and City Interchange from 7.00 am.
- Routes 4 & 5 Services operate daily between City Interchange and Canberra Olympic Pool every 15 minutes. Exit bus on Constitution Ave.
- Route 313 Service operates daily between Belconnen Interchange and Belconnen Basketball Stadium every 30 minutes. Exit bus at the West end of Cohen St; it is a short walk LEFT along Nettlefold St, then turn RIGHT into Oatley Court.
Saturday & Sunday
- Route 980 Service operates between City Interchange and Belconnen Interchange linking AIS Precinct, University of Canberra and National Hockey Centre every 60 minutes.
- Route 980 Service also operates between City Interchange and Canberra Olympic Pool every 60 minutes.
- Routes 904 & 905 Services operate between Belconnen Interchange and Belconnen Basketball Stadium every 60 minutes.
Please note:
- It is approximately a 5 minute walk from City Interchange to Canberra Olympic Pool.
- It is approximately a 10 minute walk from Belconnen Interchange to Belconnen Basketball Stadium.
Tickets
- ACTION Weekly Tickets provide 7 days unlimited travel from time of purchase.
- ACTION Daily Tickets provide unlimited travel from day ticket is validated.
- Tickets can be purchased at Bus Interchanges and most newsagents.
- On-bus tickets can be purchased from driver for single trips.
