Ceremonies

The 2008 Pacific School Games will feature two major ceremonies.

Opening Ceremony

  • The Opening Ceromony in the morning on Sunday 30 November will be a spectacular presentation of song, music, drama and dance showcasing the talent of ACT students.

 

  • This Ceremony will be conducted at the Canberra Stadium, one of Canberra's major international sports venues which has facilities for a major presentation and significant spectator seating.

Closing Ceremony

  • The Closing Ceremony on the evening of
    Saturday 6 December     will be less formal than the Opening Ceremony offering competitors, officials and others involved in the 2008 Pacific School Games the opportunity to mix, celebrate new friendships, and farewell each other    .
  • This Ceremony will be held at Canberra's Thoroughbred Park.

It is anticipated that the host of the next Pacific School Games will be announced by this time and a handover ceremony to the next hosts will form part of the Closing Ceremony.
