Ceremonies

The 2008 Pacific School Games will feature two major ceremonies.

Opening Ceremony

  • The Opening Ceremony on
    Sunday 30 November
    10:00am - 12 noon will be a 2 hour spectacular presentation of song, music, drama and dance showcasing the talent of ACT students.

 

  • This Ceremony will be conducted at the Canberra Stadium, a 25,000 all-seat venue which has played host to many international and national sporting events.

Closing Ceremony

  • The Closing Ceremony on the evening of
    Saturday 6 December
    6.30pm - 9:30pm (gates open at 5:15) will be an exciting climax to the 2008 PSG Games.  It will enable competitors, officials and others involved in the 2008 PSG the opportunity to mix, celebrate new friendships, and farewell each other     in a informal dance party.
  • This Ceremony will be held at Canberra's Thoroughbred Park.

It is anticipated that the host of the next Pacific School Games will be announced by this time and a handover ceremony to the next hosts will form part of the Closing Ceremony.
