Disability Advisory Committee

The Disability Advisory Committee is one of the sub-committees formed to help organise the 2008 Pacific School Games.

Together, the members of the Committee have broad knowledge and experience of the needs of people with a disability, sport for people with a disability, school sport and the Pacific School Games.  Their role is to provide specialist advice to the 2008 PSG Management on all aspects of the 2008 PSG that may impact on people with a disability and their carers.  This includes:

  • the structure of competition for students in the Swimming and Track & Field events;
  • access and operational issues for people with a disability (competitors, officials, volunteers and spectators) at the sports venues, ceremonies and functions venues;
  • accommodation needs for people with a disability (competitors and officials); and
  • transport needs for people with a disability (competitors, officials, volunteers and spectators) including parking arrangements at all 2008 PSG venues and arranged accommodation.
