School Sport Australia
The mission of School Sport Australia is to provide quality educational opportunities through sport for Australian school communities.
Established in 1981, School Sport Australia is responsible for the development and promotion of school sport in Australia. They achieve this through state member bodies who implement programs that provide the maximum number of opportunities for students to participate in the broadest possible range of sporting activities. They also assist in policy development.
The focal point of School Sport Australia activities is the interstate competitions offered at Primary and Secondary levels. These are the culmination of state-based programs and offer gifted and talented students opportunity to participate in high level sporting competitions. These events are an integral part of the School Sport Australia program, not only for their sporting benefits, but also for their immense educational, cultural and social benefits for the participants.
The Pacific School Games is the Flagship event of School Sport Australia.
