Mills Goes Back to Junior School
5 May 2008
Australia Post Boomer and recently inducted Pacific School Games Ambassador, Patrick Mills, returned to his old school, Marist Junior School this morning to conduct an Australia Post’s Junior Boomers clinic for a group of Year 4 – 6 Marist Students.
Mills’ visit to the Marist Junior School today is just one of many initiatives by Australia Post and Basketball Australia, to connect the Australia Post Boomers to school children around the country.
The basketball prodigy’s short visit back to his hometown Canberra, comes after a successful freshman season with his American College, St. Mary’s. The Pacific School Games Ambassador drew rave reviews from coaches and impressed talent scouts around America with his abundant talent and maturity on and off the Basketball court.
Touted by many as a potential starting point guard for the Australia Post Boomers at this year’s Beijing Olympics, Mills will have a short break before resuming his duties for the Green and Gold.
Mills will attend the first of a series of Australia Post Boomers Camps at the Australian Institute of Sport starting next week in preparations for the upcoming Beijing Olympics in August.
