Competition Venue

The diving competition will be conducted at the Canberra Olympic Pool, situated in the Civic Centre precinct, the commercial and retail heart of Canberra. The venue is well serviced by Canberra’s public bus system and there is ample public parking within easy walking distance.

The facility has a 50 metre x 8 lane covered pool, a 27 x 17 metre diving pool and a 20 metre shade covered children’s wading pool. The diving pool is an outdoor facility that features a diving tower at one end of the 27 metre pool and two one metre springboards at the other end.  The tower comprises two 3 metre springboards and a five (5) and ten (10) metre platform. The pool has a constant depth of 5.1 metres (16.5 feet).

The other 2008 Pacific School Games venues, the National Hockey Centre at Lyneham and the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) at Bruce, are approximately a 10 to 15 minute drive to the north of the city centre.
